HAROLD JACOBSON

Harold Lamar Jacobson "Papa" My Sweetheart, best friend, and eternal companion, Harold Lamar Jacobson, passed from this earthly life and into the arms of his loving Heavenly Father on Sept. 22, 2009.Harold was born on November 2, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the third of the seven children to Marvin C Jacobson and Lenora Hepworth Jacobson. He and I were married on May 5, 1961 and our marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. We were blessed with five wonderful children. Harold was a quiet, loving, and caring man with a subtle sense of humor who always gave 110% in all that he did. He enjoyed wood working: He made toys, furniture, and all sorts of wooden projects that he gladly gave to his family and friends. He kept his family close together and cherished his time with them. Harold and I were blessed to have served two LDS missions; one in California and another a few years later in Australia. Harold and I loved serving as a missionary, and he truly blessed the lives of those whom he served and all those who know him, both in the mission field and in his personal life. He found great joy in serving the Lord, and served whenever asked in various callings in his ward. He leaves behind a great legacy of love, friendship, courage, and great strength. He is loved and respected by all that know him and will be greatly missed until we meet again. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joan Larae Holdaway Jacobson, and our five children: Cindy (Marty) Wilcox, Christy (Nick) Mitchell, Carrie (Dan) Price, Steven Jacobson, and Cheri Jacobson, 16 grandchildren, five great-grand-children, and his loving brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The family wishes to express our love and appreciation to the staff of Millcreek Hospice. Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Western Hills 2nd Ward, 5380 West 5400 South. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and on Monday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
